Hello Dear Reader // Hoi lieve lezer,
Thanks for subscribing to our Kaapsche Hollandsche Monthly Table Talk.
Last month (click here to read) you could read about how to fool anyone…
This month we table talk around what it means to make a change. Not just any change but a successful one!
Every change starts in the mind first. It starts by noticing what you like and what you don’t. Then it requires you to make a decision to change what isn’t working.
Simple example.
You start to notice your clothes don’t fit so nicely anymore.
You see girl friends that lost weight and are looking good!
You become irritable with the status quo.
You think about everything that you need to give up in order to achieve a slimmer body.
You decide now is not the right time.
Or the time to make a change is now.
Need to make a change?
Firstly look at the time allocations in your life. Where do I spend most of my time and does it bring me fulfilment?
This really takes us back to the very beginning of how to make a successful change.
“What makes you feel fulfilled?”
This is the most important question!
Remember, you are the only one who can decide what fulfillment is for you. It simply can’t come from anyone outside you. Not a parent, spouse, friend, colleague or boss, even when they are well intentioned.
Your happiness/ well being lives inside the things that make you feel fulfilled. When you decide to make a change and fix your life by focusing on your feeling of fulfillment, you will:
• Lower your stress levels
• Boost your self esteem and confidence
• Increase your feelings of joy
• Improve your relationships and connections
• And so much more!
All things that will help you feel happier!
And even better, when you find ways to combine the things that fulfill you, with a positive change you have hit the jackpot.
PersonaIly I made a career change on the 1 of March.
After 5 years of entrepreneurial trail blazing with Kaapsche Hollandsche, I decided to pursue my love for real estate again.
As of the beginning of March I have been a property consultant with Pam Golding in the Paarl Winelands.
The change was not without hurdles and drama.
But as I gave it my all, I can testify the change has been successful.
A few things that stood out for me:
Be courageous – change is uncomfortable by itself and you need courage to make a change.
Be adamant, there is no room for giving up. Push through.
Be aware not everybody likes the new you. That is okay.
Reflect often and see how far you have come. Speak kindly to yourself. Don’t be your own worse critic but rather celebrate the milestones well.

So Girl Friends out there, sit around your table, invite a few successful changers and hear their stories.
Truly, it will make you rich!
Met liefde,
Nelleke van Heerden
